The New Jersey Turnpike’s 6 to 9 Widening Program, was a 5 year, $2.7 billion project which increased 35 miles of roadway to 12 lanes.  Ground was broken in 2009 and on November 2, 2104 the entire 12 lane, 35 mile stretch was open to the motoring public.

During the life of these series of projects, Zone Striping was the line striping sub-contractor of choice on 16 of the contracts, with the final contract requiring resurfacing and bridge deck repairs to the existing roadway. For the final phase, Zone forces installed nearly 500,000 LF of 6” wide thermoplastic in 5 shifts of work.  In total Zone completed nearly 1.4 million feet of removal (grinding, hydro-blasting & black epoxy resin), over 2.2 million feet of temporary striping (latex paint, epoxy resin & removable tape) and almost 1.8 million feet of permanent striping. (thermoplastic, epoxy resin & contrast tape)
